Saira Banu recently shared a heartfelt post on Instagram about her bond with Hema Malini. She said they had wanted to meet for years but only recently managed to spend time together.
When Hema visited her home the two actresses spent hours recalling memories laughing and reliving their golden days.
Saira fondly recalled first meeting Hema in 1966 on the sets of Deewana, directed by Raj Kapoor. Later while shooting near Krishna Raj Sagar Dam, their families spent evenings together exchanging beauty tips. She recalled how her mother used to put lobaan in her hair for fragrance, a detail that surprised Hema.
She also shared how she and her husband, Dilip Kumar, once introduced Hema to the press in Madras, which touched Hema deeply.
Another special memory was shooting a song for Shagird on Janmashtami, an experience Saira said would always remain close to her heart.
