Celebrity breakups have become quite common these days and the latest to join the list are badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap.
Saina took to Insta and announced their separation saying that life takes people in different directions.
She mentioned that after much thought they decided to part ways to focus on peace, growth and healing and thanked everyone for respecting their privacy.
The news surprised many in the sports world. They both got married in 2018 after falling in love.
Saina made history by winning a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics while Kashyap won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Kashyap retired in 2024 and turned coach. Saina, who has been struggling with arthritis, hasn’t played since June 2023 and is also expected to retire soon, as hinted in a podcast late last year.
