Kalki 2898 AD became a worldwide hit and the makers had planned to begin work on its sequel. But due to several delays, including parting ways with Deepika Padukone, the project is moving slowly. In the meantime director Nag Ashwin is looking to focus on another film.
According to Bollywood reports, Nag Ashwin wants to revive his long-planned women-centric project. Initially he had approached Alia Bhatt, and she agreed, but her busy schedule made him wait too long. Now, he is reportedly considering Sai Pallavi for the lead role.
Sai Pallavi known for her strong performances and wide fan base, is currently busy with Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
Once she wraps up her part, she will have some time before joining Kalki 2898 AD sequel, which Ashwin wants to utilize for this film.
Talks are underway and official confirmation is awaited. Veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is said to be penning the story.
