Naga Chaitanya and Gautam Menon’s Sahasam Sawasaga Saagipo released on Friday, 11th November 2016. Many among the general audience and Industry thought it would be a suicidal move by the film team to release the movie just after 2 days of the Demonetization announcement. It looked really a Sahasam and few films backed out as well. But taking inspiration from the title, the makers went ahead with the release.The audience even though many are outside the ATMs and banks to withdraw and deposit money, they have found time to get entertained as well. The crowds that the film is pulling considering the kind of panic running around, is heartening to see and proves that a good film will always have great amount of support of audience, beyond any doubt.
There were several films that managed to survive the natural calamities and become blockbusters and Industry hits like PremNagar and Jagadekaveerudu Athiloka Sundari. This movie started at the box office on a promisingly positive note collecting a share of 3.5 crores in both the Telugu states in two days. The movie looks at a collection of 4.5 to 5 crores share in Telugu states, by the end of the weekend and total world wide share would be near to 7.5 to 8 crores. This is a great start and hopefully movie will continue on merry ways in coming weeks as well.
Film is garnering positive word of mouth from several quarters. Mainly music and BGM by legendary, AR Rahman have become a point of appreciation. Naga Chaitanya’s performance is also being vastly praised. Cinematography and visuals have taken next spot in garnering appreciation. Even though there are few issues with Gautam Menon’s taking especially in second half, people are surprised and mesmerised by his narrative style and Vellipomakey is getting great amount of love.
