Nature is not just some energy but is the main reason why life exists on this rock in vast space. So, in every mythology nature is given a character and even represented in human form as well. So, making the nature a silent witness to everything a judge seems a good concept for an unique film. So, did Sakshyam live upto the promising premise?
Plot : Nature decides to help a family of Raju Garu (Sharath Kumar) who is killed brutally by Munuswamy ( Jagapathi Babu) and his brothers. Nature saves the young boy and he is adopted by a rich family in Kasi. The young boy turns out to be Viswas (Bellamkonda Srinivas), an adventure junkie.
He meets Soundaryalahari (Pooja Hegde) who is an expert in mythology and falls for her. They fight and to apologise to her, Viswas comes to India. And he starts finding himself in situations where he has to kill people. What are the situations? How Nature helped him? Watch the movie for answers.
Performances : Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas showed signs of improvement in his previous film, Jaya Janaki Nayaka. The movie did end up being a good step forward for the actor. Now, he again retrograded all the development in this movie. He looked clueless, hammed everything and except in climax, he did not look confident at all. He needs to find a good tutor as soon as possible.
Pooja Hegde looked clueless while delivering dialogues but looked pretty throughout the film. Jagapathi Babu gave the movie some soul. All others are as routine as day and night.
Technicalities : Arthur A. Wilson is very good with his camera work. He is the main person other than music composer, who looked to have put his heart and soul into the film. Still his work with VFX is very forgettable.
Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao’s editing is very incoherent and highly inconsistent.
Harshavardhan Rameshwaran’s BGM is loud and good but his score dominates the movie and it is not an healthy sign. Songs are placed very poorly.
Sriwass, the director and also writer doesn’t really concentrate on keeping his story as fresh as his concept. He just tries to manipulate audience into believing that the story is new but had he sincerely tried to keep it new and interesting, movie could have been a good action drama.
His screenplay is so filled with loopholes that one can just say that the director is trying to make a fool out of his viewers rather than telling a tale with honesty. The execution of all important action sequences is pathetic.
Analysis : The movie suffers a lot due to the highly amateurish approach of the director to a concept that could have stood out among the many action films. It had similar body like Khaleja, Sri Anjaneyam and Murari but it couldn’t execute it properly like Murari. It falters in explaining logically the need for intervention of a powerful force like nature in a normal revenge story.
It is just used as a tool for presenting the same old story rather than really carving a good tale that we would love to visit and re-visit. The usage of VFX and even the good artwork doesn’t supplement for bad execution. This movie is a forgettable fare and a sorry tale of how a good concept can go wrong.
