Rukmini Maitra is set to star opposite Akshay Kumar in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Samuk.
Directed by Kanishk Varma, the film is a big-budget pan-India project scheduled for release in 2027. Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, it marks an important step in Rukmini’s career.
Rukmini began her career as a model before entering Bengali cinema with Chaamp in 2017, opposite Dev.
She later appeared in films like Kabir, Password, Kishmish and Boomerang. She also played legendary theatre artist Binodini Dasi in Binodiini.
Rukmini made her Hindi debut with Sanak in 2021, opposite Vidyut Jammwal. Samuk also stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Swanand Kirkire and Banita Sandhu. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
