Owing to the restrictions in the Bollywood market, and the ticket pricing issue in Andhra Pradesh, everyone was of the thought that RRR’s release would be postponed, and given the several rumours of Rajamouli considering postponing the film, it was thought that this would come to pass. However, it has now been confirmed that RRR would release on January 7th as planned and that there would be no more delays, as everything has been put in place for the film’s release, with the film being promoted aggressively.
On the other hand, producer DVV Danayya is said to be put under pressure by the distributors in Andhra Pradesh, who are reportedly asking him for a 40% refund of the amount they paid for the film. This is due to the situation in Andhra Pradesh not getting any better, with respect to the ticket pricing in the state. The AP government clarified that there would be no exceptions for RRR, despite the many requests that were made.
Young Rebel Star Prabha’s Radhe Shyam is also geared up to release a week after RRR, on January 14th, and the film is expected to go through the same gruelling process.
