Rajamouli’s RRR, featuring NTR as Komarama Bheem, and Ram Charan as Alluri Sitaramaraju, is in a very tight position currently, given that the makers of the film aren’t certain of the release of the film, due to the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to threaten everyone. The film is currently scheduled to release on October 13th this year, but there are speculations that the film’s release would be postponed for Sankranthi next year.
Many other big-budget films have already worked their release dates around the release date of RRR, making sure that they don’t go against this mammoth of a film. With speculations of RRR being release for Sankranthi 2022, all the films that have been announced to release for Sankranthi 2022 are now in a fix, uncertain of what’s to be done.
If RRR sticks to its October release date, while it might turn out to be the best for other films, it might turn out to be a risky move for the makers of RRR, as audiences aren’t still fully open to going to theatres in large numbers. If RRR gets postponed to next year, there would be immense pressure on the makers from the buyers of the film, as the buyers have been promised that the film would be released before or by January 2022. Either way, RRR’s release is turning out to be a risk factor for the makers in every way, it is now to be seen what will happen.
