Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR released on March 25th, and the movie has been doing wonders at the box office since then. While a lot of complaints were raised against the high ticket prices for the film, which went up to Rs. 5000 for benefit shows, the audiences didn’t stop, and rushed to the movie immediately.
Now, after 10 days of the film’s release, the ticket prices for the film have been slashed, and brought down to normal prices. While the prices are in accordance to the AP government’s GO, in the state, the prices are still high in Telangana. The ticket prices in Telangana were raised recently, after the Telangana government allowed it. The tickets are now sold in Telangana at Rs. 295 in multiplexes, Rs. 350 for recliners and Rs. 175 for single screens.
While the prices are lesser then what they were, they’re still a lot. Due to the increased prices, the footfalls in theatres have also gone down, with not as many people coming to the theatres as they used to. On the whole, it looks like the industry needs to revise the ticket plans for better numbers in the future.
