RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, has been the director’s first film post the Baahubali franchise, and there have been massive expectations on the film since its launch. The film has been breaking all previous records in the Telugu states, but the situation outside of the Telugu states has been rather different. The pandemic changed the situation in the country, with audiences preferring to stay at home and watch content than go to the theatres, unless and until the movie turns out to be worth the theatrical experience.
While the movie witnessed a really good pre-booking in the Telugu states and in the USA, the situation in other states has been rather different. It was expected that the film would only pickup after release if it manages to get good reviews and positive word of mouth. With the film getting more than that, with overwhelmingly positive reviews from everywhere, the evening shows for the movie, outside of the Telugu states are said to have picked up rapidly.
On the other hand, RRR features an ensemble cast, which includes Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody, while NTR and Ram Charan headline the film as Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju respectively.
