RRR Creates History In Japan With 1 Million Footfalls

According to reports, RRR by S. S. Rajamouli is the first Indian movie to gross over a million tickets in Japan.

The landmark work of director S. S. Rajamouli, “RRR,” allegedly became the first Indian film to gross over 1 million tickets in Japan.

The movie starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr. was aired in October of the previous year. In 164 days of its theatre run, the RRR movie attracted 1 million viewers, according to its official Twitter account.

The tweet read: “#RRRMovie records 1 Million+ footfall in 164 Days and continues its rocking run.”

An excited Rajamouli too wrote: “Showered with 1 Million hugs from Japanese fans…Arigato Guzaimasu #RRRinJapan.”

The music “Naatu Naatu” from “RRR” was honoured with the 95th Oscar in the Original music category in February. Additionally, it won a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award.

The fictional account of two real-life Indian rebels, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, and their struggle against the British Raj is told in the film “RRR,” which also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran.

The story, which takes place in the 1920s, focuses on the unrecorded period of their life when both revolutionaries decided to remain unknown before taking up arms for their nation.
