Director SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited film, RRR, featuring NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, was finally released on March 25th, after a lot of delays. The film has been performing very well at the box office, bringing in big numbers, The film even surpassed the collections of Baahubali 2 on the first day of its release in the USA.
While RRR didn’t get a good opening in the non-Telugu states, the film picked up very well from the second day, following positive reviews, and a very good word of mouth. According to the latest reports, RRR would surpass the lifetime collections of Baahubali 2 on the 7th day of its release, in the Nizam area. Considering that there was no GST for Baahubali 2, as the system wasn’t then still established, there aren’t any direct comparisons, and of course, the increased ticket prices for RRR are also to be taken into account.
However, the fact that the film would cross BB2’s lifetime collections on its 7th day shows the scale of success of RRR. On the other hand, RRR features Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson as the antagonist, while Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Alison Doody, Shriya Saran and Samuthirakani are seen in key roles.
