Noted producer Dil Raju’s nephew Ashish’s debut film, Rowdy Boys under the direction of Sri Harsha Konuganti has hit the screens today. Let’s analyse it.
Story: Set in college backdrop, Akshay (Ashish) an engeneering college student loves a medical college girl named Kavya( Anupama Parameswara). The love story between Akshay and Kavya leads to a war between two campuses. Later, due to an unexpected scenario, both Akshay and Kavya break up? What is the main reason behind the break-up between the couple? After so much drama, how will Kavya and Akshay reunite? To know that you have to watch the film in the theatres near you.
Performances: Ashish worked very hard in performing dance moves and it’s visible on screen. If he continues the same then he has scope to impress a new-age audience with his dancing skills. Looks-wise, Ashish is good but he needs to improve in terms of acting and work hard on his dialogue modulation.
Heroine Anupama Parameswara is amazing and her transformation as a medical student is good. The romantic chemistry between Anupama and Ashish will attract the youth audience.
Other actors such as Sahidev Vikram and Karthik Ratnam are apt in their respective roles as college youngsters.
Technicalities: Music by Devi Sri Prasad is an advantage for the film as all his songs are passable on the screen and so is the background music for all key action and romantic sequences.
The cinematography by R Madhi is nice as he showcased the college atmosphere in a believable way. Editing by Madhu lacks sharpness.
Production values by Dil Raju’s home production are apt for the film’s genre.
Analysis: Hushaaru fame Sree Harsha Konuganti directs Rowdy Boys. The basic idea of making a youthful entertainer in a college backdrop is good but Harsha somewhere lost the grip in presenting the movie on an engaging note.
Despite having padding stuff like decent music and a good technical team, looks like Sree Harsha has taken things for granted with the film as the proceedings look very dull. Adding to it, a few unwanted episodes in both halves also come as a minus for the movie.
To summerize, Rowdy Boys is a youthful entertainer that has a couple of romantic moments between the lead pair but struggles from a slow-paced and dull narrative. What we suggest is that watch the movie if you have enough time during this festival weekend or else happily skip it and wait for a digital release.
Verdict: Fails to impress!
