Roshan Meka took a four year break after his previous film became a box-office hit and carefully chose Champion as his next project. The film is now getting ready for a grand release on December 25th and the makers are promoting it on a big scale. Songs like Gira Gira, Sallangundale and the club number have become very popular. The trailer clearly shows the film’s core theme, which is based on the 1948 Bairanpally revolt.
As part of promotions, Roshan visited Bairanpally village and met the real villagers. He spoke with them about how the film aims to honor the sacrifice of 90 people who were killed in a night attack by the Razakars. The villagers welcomed him and shared details about the weapons and tools they used.
They spoke about how Raji Reddy led the villagers in their fight against the Nizam rulers and showed him the memorial pillar built to remember the brave souls. Roshan assured them that Champion would be a fitting tribute and would bring the village history and sacrifice to the world.
Produced by Priyanka Dutt under Swapna Cinema, the film promises authenticity and emotion. Director Pradeep Advaitam has shaped the film as a heartfelt tribute to a village that fought only for freedom. Champion releases worldwide on December 25th.
