Robo Shankar Passes Away At 46 In Chennai

Tamil actor and comedian Robo Shankar passed away in Chennai at the age of 46. He fell ill while working on a film set and was rushed to the hospital.

Reports say he was moved to the ICU but his condition worsened, leading to his death. A few months ago he suffered from jaundice and lost a lot of weight during recovery, which worried his fans. Recently he returned to work and even took part in Sun TV’s cooking show Top Cooku Dupe Cooku.

Robo Shankar, who got his nickname for his robot-like acts in village programs and TV shows, started his film career in 1997 with small roles, including Padayappa.

His breakthrough came with Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. He later acted in many hit films too.

Shankar is survived by his wife Priyanka and daughter Indraja.
