Kantara: Chapter 1, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, has cancelled its Chennai promotional event. The event, originally planned for Tuesday was called off following the tragic stampede in Karur.
The makers said it was not the right time for a celebration and expressed their condolences, stating “Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected. We look forward to meeting our audience in TN at a more appropriate time”.
The recently released trailer has been praised for its high end visuals, grand scale and rich portrayal of mythology.
The film stars Rukmini, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and others with music by Ajaneesh Loknath. Trailer releases in multiple languages were supported by many stars.
The film has received a UA certificate and is set to release worldwide on Dussehra, October 2nd, in multiple languages.
