RGV In Trouble: Ex-IPS Officer Files Case

Director Ram Gopal Varma(RGV) has once again run into legal trouble. Former IPS officer Anjana Sinha has filed a case against him, accusing him of misusing her identity in his 2022 web series Dahanam.

She stated that her name and professional profile were used in the series without her knowledge or consent, and only for commercial purposes.

Anjana Sinha, a 1990 batch officer who earlier served as SP and DIG in Rayalaseema and later as ADGP in Telugu states, is now the Director of the National Industrial Security Academy.

She clarified that she never interacted with the makers or gave any approval. Dahanam, streamed on MX Player with seven episodes, is a revenge drama produced by Varma.

Anjana said the show had violent and sexual content, which linked her identity to objectionable material, causing damage to her reputation and mental distress. Raidurgam police have registered a case, adding to RGV’s ongoing legal battles.
