Revenue Sharing Issue Sparks New Debate
The percentage system issue is creating major discussions in the Telugu film industry. Producers and exhibitors are having disagreements over the revenue-sharing model.
Several meetings were recently held and a committee with producers, distributors, and exhibitors was formed to find a solution.
Now, Telangana exhibitors have announced that they will not screen Ram Charan’s Peddi if the percentage system is not finalized soon.
Telangana Film Chamber General Secretary Sridhar said exhibitors are still waiting for clarity from producers and discussions are continuing.
The exhibitors also made it much clear that there will be no ticket price hikes for Peddi or any other film in Telangana.
They revealed that a letter was sent to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy requesting him not to allow ticket hikes, as higher prices reduce audience footfalls in theatres across the state.
