Revathy continued by saying that she always relishes experimenting with various genres and difficult topics.
In the romantic fantasy thriller “Tooth Pari: When Love Bites,” the renowned actress and director Revathy discussed portraying the role of Luna Luka, head of a group opposed to vampires.
She added that because it is a totally new genre for her to explore, she took a lot of time before committing to it. She does, however, always enjoy experimenting with new styles and narratives.
In the web series, Tanya Maniktala and Shantanu Maheshwari portray a dentist named Roy and a vampire named Rumi, respectively.
Talking about being part of a series and a completely new genre, the 56-year-old actress said: “A lot of thought has always gone behind any project that I have chosen and ‘Tooth Pari: When Love Bites’ is no exception. When I heard the script, I knew it was a genre I had never traversed into earlier. This was not a normal everyday story but something new that our director, Pratim Dasgupta had envisioned and plotted in the city of joy, Kolkata.
For her efforts in the Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada film industries, Revathy is renowned. She made her acting début with the Tamil film ‘Mann Vasanai’ in 1983. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, two South Asian movie icons, were among her collaborators. In the 1991 love story “Love,” she costarred with Bollywood icon Salman Khan. She recruited Kajol for her directing debut, “Salaam Venky,” last year.
She continued by saying that she enjoys experimenting with new genres and difficult topics.
“Exploring new and unusual formats is a challenge I love to undertake. In the series, I have portrayed a character that is strong-willed, strong in her beliefs and ready to fight against all odds. I love playing such well-etched-out roles,” she added.
‘Tooth Pari: When Love Bites’ will be streaming from April 20 on Netflix.
