A common factor that’s been tampering with the collections of movies in recent months is the insanely increased ticket prices in the Telugu states. While things are a bit considerable in Andhra Pradesh, there seems to be no stopping of filmmakers in Telangana from imposing a ticket hike on almost every film that’s set to be released.
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya, which was released in April, suffered greatly due to the ticket prices. While the film received a bad talk, there have been several instances in the past where even movies that received a bad talk collected considerably at the box office. The main reason for Acharya’s lack of collections has been attributed to the insane ticket prices.
Now, with Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which was released today, getting a decent talk, experts are of the opinion that the film would do very well at the box office if ticket prices are slashed and that it would greatly suffer otherwise.
