Priyadarshi, as part of Mallesham promotions, spoke to the media on Thursday, where he has shared a lot right from the first day of the shoot to talking to Chintakindi Mallesham to play his role in a best possible way.
Asked about what made him say yes to the story, the actor said, “I always wanted to come out of the comedian image and wanted to prove that he can do a lot better than just comedy. I tried films out of comedy and people hardly appreciated my efforts. They were stuck with Kaushik, the role I played in Pellichoopulu. So I thought this film would help me in proving myself.”
Directed and produced by R Raj, the film is based on true story and in fact, can be called as a biopic too. Raj has done a lot of research in the making of this film and the team personally met Chintakindi Mallesham. “I thought he would look like a big shot and have at least ten people around him. But I was surprised to see him as such a simple person. He in fact told me that he watches my films. He is just like all of us. It inspired me to do better and more. Personally too,” said Darshi.
Mallesham is hitting the screens on June 21 and has Chakrapani, Jhansi, Ananya, Lakshman Aelay and others in key roles.
