For a while now, there has been a lot of speculation about the Telugu remake of Tamil film Kanithan. Now, director TN Santhosh has confirmed that, yes, the movie will be remade and it will star Ravi Teja in the lead. The mass hero has reportedly watched the film a few days ago, and he liked it enough to say ‘yes’ to the project. The director of the film told Times of India, “I was in Hyderabad to discuss the remake, and I’m glad that Ravi Teja has given a nod to my film and also agreed to begin work on it first, though he has two other films in the pipeline. If everything pans out well, the film will go on the floors soon.”
The remake will be made on a much bigger scale than the original. The makers also have a few changes in mind to suit the taste of Telugu audience. Santhosh had initially planned to make Kanithan as a bilingual with Allu Arjun in the lead, but that didn’t work out as the star was had other projects.
