In an exclusive conversation with Koimoi, Ravi Kishan spoke candidly about the Gangs Of Wasseypur project that was turned down.
Gangs Of Wasseypur, a crime drama by Anurag Kashyap, is one of the most popular and often viewed shows. The franchise, which consisted of Parts 1 and 2 and featured Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has frequently generated discussion and controversy. We have repeatedly witnessed the Gangs of Wasseypur performers giving fascinating behind-the-scenes stories that leave everyone in awe. Few people are aware that Anurag Kashyap chose popular actor Ravi Kishan for the gangster story. Yes, that is accurate.
Few people are aware that Kishan declined GOW after reports of him hitting in Wine became public. The actor recently opened out to Koimoi in an exclusive interview on why he passed on the film Gangs of Wasseypur.
In a recent exclusive interview with Koimoi, Jameel Khan, Pawan Malhotra, and Ravi Kishan discussed their most recent film, Mission Raniganj, which has Akshay Kumar in the lead role. We just so happened to ask Ravi Kishan about turning down Gangs of Wasseypur during the interview. He revealed it to us by saying, “Mere baar mein dharnaaiye zayda hai.” Main Kashyap says in Mukkabaaz, “Main ussi breed ka actor hoon, main usme aa sakta tha.” Aapko lena chahte the, woh bole “aapka kirdaar bhi tha.”
Ravi Kishan further revealed, “Anurag ko kisi ne kaha “ye pehle aayega vanity van mein. Isko wine se do log nehlaayenge aur angoor khilayenge do ladkiyan. Tab ye tayyar hota hai, tab tak dopher hojaati hai,” ye sab stupidity thi. Adding, “Uske baad maine Mukkabaaz aise halat mein ki thi. Maine bola, “Tum dekh rahe ho. Tumhara chana-singh ka budget tha, usme hum film kiye tumhari.””
Ravi Kishan went on to say that one of his favourite movies and a movie that has always meant a lot to him is Gangs of Wasseypur.
