Raveena Tandon Reveals Things She Isn’t Comfortable Doing in Films

Rape scenes were on the list of movie elements that Raveena Tandon recently shared as unsettling. Though she said that because of her handicap, others branded her conceited.

Actress Raveena Tandon remembers hearing the word “arrogant” when she declined to participate in kissing sequences or wear a “swimming costume” in a movie. She stated in a recent interview that she would only accept to rape sequences in her movies if her garments were completely undamaged. She identified herself as the “only actress” who cooperated with this rule.

Raveena recently discussed how she experienced body-shaming in Bollywood. She remarked that the final words were whatever the male performers said. The “greatest” adversaries of other women, according to her, are other women because they body-shame and slut-shame them in an effort to knock them down. She claimed that following her marriage to film distributor Anil Thadani, she took a vacation from the profession because of the “viciousness” of journalism in the 1990s.

Raveena remarked, “I used to feel uneasy around a lot of things. Take dance moves, for instance. I would say, “Listen, I’m not comfortable with this step,” if I were uncomfortable. I wouldn’t take the action. I refused to do any kissing scenes or wear a bathing suit. I then had my basis. I was the only actor to have two rape scenes with no visible dress rips. I used to wear just totally intracranial clothing.”

“Rape scenes tum karlo agar karna hai. Mera dress phatega nahi. They used to refer to me as being conceited, “Added Raveena. Although it wasn’t vulgar, Darr was the film that first caught my attention. However, there were some scenes in Darr that I found uncomfortable at the time. I’ve never worn a bathing suit before. I would reply, “No, I won’t wear a bathing suit.” Even Prem Qaidi, the first movie I believe Lolo (Karisma Kapoor) saw in theatres, was originally recommended to me. I was uncomfortable with that, though, in just one scene where the hero pulls down the zipper and the strap is visible,” she admitted.

With Patthar Ke Phool (1991), Raveena made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan. As a result of her roles in movies like Mohra, Andaz Apna Apna, Laadla, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Dulhe Raja, and others, she went on to become one of the most well-known actors of the 1990s.

The actor, who was most recently seen in KGF: Chapter 2, will next be seen opposite Sanjay Dutt in Ghudchadi. She is now working on the second season of her Netflix web series Aranyak as well as Arbaaz Khan’s Patna Shukla.
