Rashi Khanna as second heroine in Sukumar-Charan film!

Sukumar started off his career with a different love story highlighting the one side lover Aarya whose intentions are to see happiness in the life of his true love even if she thinks she is in love with another man. In fact he supports them so much that he even risks his life for them to let them be united. After the movie’s success he turned to a teenage gangster’s story, Jagadam and with the film he proved his metal as a director and still the film has a cult following among the youngsters while few mistakes effect it’s box office returns badly. Then he turned to his most successful character Aarya, giving another dimension to his sacrifice and friendship. The film is considered a good one but the length at which the character is ready to go for his friendship and love was a bit too far-fetched for audience.

Even though he has proved himself with subjects and scenes, film industry looks at you for box office success more than your talent. So he dialed down a bit on his ambition and made a love story with Tamannah and Naga Chaitanya, 100% Love. He discussed the difference between attraction, infatuation and love with two immature adults as protagonists. The movie became a success and Sukumar got a call from Mahesh.Sukumar realised that this his opportunity to be regarded among the popular and big directors of the generation and made 1″Nenokkadine” with the star. Presenting him as a Rock star for Sankranthi. But the movie lost all its fuel on the first day itself, even though Mahesh bagged huge name for his performance. Again script wise few mistakes overshadowed his brilliance but US audience lapped up the movie big time and several commented on the movie being an ‘Inception’ for Telugu Cinema towards better scripts.

In the end, box office did not agree with the sentiments of them and Sukumar became one of those directors who has all the knowledge about but doesn’t have the grip on story telling that he needed to possess as a maker. He turned into producer by establishing Sukumar Writings, and his first movie, Kumari 21F became a huge success with Hebbah Patel and Raj Tarun. Meanwhile, looking to reinvent himself, Jr. NTR knocked on Sukumar’s door for a different script and film. Sukumar this time took little bit more care in presenting his hero and strring up emotions with Nannaku Prematho but again the potentiality of the script stopped after the good first hour with a simple conclusion, causing again a debate. Well all said and done he gained a name for himself as the director who can give you a makeover and tap the hidden potential in you with a new characterisation.

This reputation, earned him a new movie with Ram Charan Tej. The. Actor is seriously looking to shed of the weight of carrying megastardom legacy forward and create a name for himself which will ultimately help him to live up to the legacy of his father sooner or later. The story of the movie is said to be a love story that happens in a village backdrop. Charan is said to be playing a visually disabled person. For the first time in his career, Sukumar is making a two heroine film it seems. As he already confirmed Anupama Parameswaran as a godavari native village girl, there is another modern girl character it seems. So he has already approached and auditioned Raashi Khanna for that role. Raashi Khanna has been finalized it seems and the actress still did not sign the dotted line to make an official announcement. The movie shooting will start from February.
