Rani Mukerji Recalls Early Struggles And Karan Johar’s Faith
Rani Mukerji will soon be seen once again as Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3. Ahead of the film release she celebrated 30 years in Bollywood and spoke about her journey during a special interaction with Karan Johar.
Rani became very much emotional while recalling how Karan supported her at the start of her career especially when some distributors were not sure if the viewers would accept her distinct and husky voice.
During Kuch Kuch Hota Hai movie Karan insisted that Rani dub her own lines even when others suggested changing her voice.
At that time Rani was still new to the industry having debuted with Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat. Karan’s trust gave her confidence as an artist. Rani thanked him for standing by her voice, which later became her strength.
She also spoke about doing strong, women centric films which gave her huge respect.
Masala chai and croissants (not bun maska) anyone?
Warm. Emotional. Funny. With shared memories. And yet a classy do. How a film event should be. How today’s event was. Karan & Rani. 30 years of films, friendship and memories. They laughed, they cried & they spoke candidly. And… pic.twitter.com/mY9XhPnwP3
