‘Mardaani’ franchise’s third installment is in the conception stage, according to information provided by Rani Mukerji.
The third installment of the ‘Mardaani’ franchise is at the concept stage, according to Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, who also gave information about it.
In the franchise, Rani plays the part of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a tough and fierce cop who goes up against predatory male criminals.
Rani Mukerji shared: “Mardaani 3 is in ideation stage. Once YRF has a great and concrete story idea, Mardaani 3 will get into the scripting stage. I’m excited to see how Mardaani 3 shapes up! I am crossing my fingers because I would love to play the part of Shivani.”
“When I did Mardaani 2, I was quite nervous because I had never done a sequel before. I was like how will it happen? Because I leave my characters behind each time a film gets over and I don’t know if I will be able to reprise that part again. With Mardaani 2, I was surprised that I enjoyed reprising the part. So now I have tasted blood. So now I want to reprise it again in 3,” Rani Mukerji added.
Rani stated that the movie’s script will need to be great since people expect a lot from this franchise and will want to witness a plot that is both exciting and original.
“If the Mardaani 3 script actually materialises into something that we would turn into a movie, I will be very happy and excited,” Rani Mukerji stated. Because I always think that actors shouldn’t just agree to be in a movie because it seems interesting. When the script is strong and we want to make a movie that matters, we need to make it.
“With Mardaani 3, we can’t make a movie if the story lacks that substance,” she continued. The females find it empowering, therefore it needs to be something that people can relate to today. Then we can perform Mardaani 3. We cannot proceed merely because it sounds thrilling. I’m hoping they can write a really solid script because I simply want to get started.
The movie “Mardaani” debuted in 2014. The story revolves around Shivani Shivaji Roy, an undercover police officer who becomes intrigued by the case of a teenage girl who has been abducted and learns about the Indian mafia, played by Tahir Raj Bhasin, is involved in human trafficking.
In 2019, the second chapter was published. Her pursuit of a 21-year-old rapist and killer, played by newcomer Vishal Jethwa, is the focus of the story.
