The third episode of Ranabaali’s documentary series Never Forget The Truth, titled The Men We Forgot, explores the real-life warriors who inspired the film’s central character.
Now streaming on YouTube, the episode offers insight into director Rahul Sankrityan’s creative process.
He revealed that Ranabaali was inspired by Rayalaseema legends Budda Vengal Reddy, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and Gadekal Bobbili Nagireddy. Their courage, sacrifice and service influenced the character.
Gadekal Bobbili Nagireddy’s story first sparked Rahul’s idea for the film, while his research introduced him to Budda Vengal Reddy, who helped famine-hit people by setting up gruel centres.
Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’s fight against the British also inspired him. Ranabaali stars Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna and releases worldwide on October 16th.
