Rana Daggubati, has made his entry into the film industry with a different outlook altogether. He did not choose a convincingly concocted launch vehicle for his debut trying to showcase his muscle power and family background. He chose to work with a famous director like Shekhar Kammula who wanted to change his image as a maker of love stories to a serious film maker. He took up the heavy subject of politics of a state and Rana as a Leader, was able to deliver a memorable film with his debut.
Since then, for Rana it had been a struggle in Telugu Cinema trying to fit into the established order and until, Bahubali franchise came his way, he was struggling to find his footing as an actor in the industry. Fortunately, due to his good relations and looks, handsome hunk was able to crossover to other industries and play key roles in some big productions as well. In fact it was his friendship with Karan Johar that led Bahubali producers to persuade KJO, to distribute their film in Hindi markets and the rest is history. Now, Rana’s confidence on choosing roles that suit his body and acting range has grown too.
Currently, he completed few schedules for his yet another political movie in the direction of Teja. And the actor will start shooting for his next movie, 1945, based on a freedom fighter real life incidents. The movie is being planned as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and it will explore universal elements like National Integrity and unity as per the sources. The Actor is pumped up about the role and if you observe, his last release was, Ghazi, the Hindi – Telugu bilingual, that had him play the role of a commanding officer in Navy. If Bollywood has Akshay Kumar for patriotic films then Tollywood has Rana, now!
