Rana Daggubati believes Telugu cinema audiences have changed significantly in recent years.
In a conversation, he said viewers are now looking beyond the hero and are becoming much more interested in the director behind a film for sure.
He explained that earlier viewers mainly followed stars but today, directors like Rajamouli, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prashanth Neel have become major attractions themselves.
Their great unique storytelling styles and strong identities create excitement even before a film releases. Rana feels this change reflects the growth of a new generation of filmmakers and audiences.
His production company, Spirit Media is also focused on supporting new talent and first time directors. He believes a filmmaker’s vision can be as important as star power in deciding a film’s success.
