Rana Daggubati Revealed Taapsee Pannu Was Kind Enough To Do a Special Role

Recently, Taapsee Pannu’s part in Ghazi was written specifically to fit the poster, according to Rana Daggubati.

The actor Rana Daggubati recently shared an interesting anecdote about his Telugu film Ghazi, which was also simultaneously released as The Ghazi Attack in 2017. Rana Daggubati is now receiving plaudits for his new Netflix series Rana Naidu.

In a recent interview, Daggubati discussed how the film had changed significantly from its original conception and had none of the elements necessary to appeal to the general public. The 38-year-old actor also mentioned how a special role was written to cover the void because the movie didn’t even feature a female character at first. As we all know, Daggubati gained notoriety for his performance as the antagonist in SS Rajamouli’s epic, two-part film Baahubali in 2015 and 2017.

Returning to The Ghazi Attack, Rana Daggubati disclosed how the inclusion of a female character was done so that the movie would appear more marketed on the poster.

According to a report Daggubati stated, “Ghazi was a very, very interesting film to put together, it was the first submarine movie. It was so hard for me to convince people to make that film. It was in Telugu at that point.” The actor continued, “There was action, but nobody fights anybody. There’s no songs in the movie, there was no girl in the movie before.” Daggubati further shared, “We wrote a role, and Taapsee was kind enough to play a special appearance, so there was a girl on the poster.”

Rana Daggubati concluded, “It could feel like a commercial film. It was fun to put together.” Taapsee interestingly has forayed into both Hindi and Southern cinema. The actress made her name with movies like Baby and Pink and was last seen in Blurr directed by Ajay Bahl.

Speaking of the Netflix series Rana Naidu, which stars Rana Daggubati, it is a remake of the popular Showtime series Ray Donovan.
