The Telangana High Court has refused to quash the criminal case against Rana Daggubati, Abiram Daggubati, Suresh Babu Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati over the Deccan Kitchen property dispute in Film Nagar.
Justice N. Tukaramji dismissed their petition seeking to cancel the chargesheet pending before the Nampally Magistrate Court.
The Daggubatis argued that the issue was a civil dispute involving lease rights, possession and demolition.
However, the court said a civil dispute can also involve criminal offences if the complaint points to a cognizable offence.
Businessman Kore Nandu Kumar had alleged illegal entry into the property, demolition of structures and removal of belongings. The criminal proceedings will now continue before the Magistrate Court.
