Rana Daggubati and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni are cousins and very close to each other as well. Even both the families maintain a great relationship with each other. Several times Ramanaidu Daggubati, the late great producer of Telugu Film Industry, wanted to produce a movie with his two grandsons and a family movie like Manam, with his actor grandsons and popular star hero son, Victory Venkatesh. But the great man expired without realising his dream and his producer son, Suresh Babu took over the dream to produce the movies. In order to at least realise one dream of his father he listened to many stories to produce a film with Naga Chaitanya in famous Suresh Productions first.
In the process, several movies from various languages were also considered but nothing impressed the producer and actor as the priorities kept changing with each career decisive film of Chaitanya. Finally they changed upon a story narrated by Krishna Marimuthu and almost finalised to make the film. But the production budget and few developments in the script became hassles for the progress of the movie and Suresh Babu alleged became skeptical about the movie. He also got busy in spearheading the Rana starrer directed by Teja. With the progress of the film being kept in the back burner Rana took over the matter and wanted to produce the movie on his own and he wants to name the producer as Ramanaidu it seems, his full name going after his grandfather’s memory.
Rana Daggubati already produced a movie, Bommalata directed by KS Prakash, Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu, Size Zero fame, on his Spirit Media banner. The movie won National Award for best film in Telugu movies for the year of 2005 at 53rd National Awards and also won Best Child Artist too. He will sharing the screen space with Naga Chaitanya in the movie and rest of the cast and crew details are yet to be announced. The shooting of the film is expected to start from 29th January and release in the second half of 2017.
