Ramayana Seals One Of Hindi Cinema’s Biggest Deals

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has acquired the Indian theatrical distribution rights for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

While the official amount has not been announced but trade reports say the deal was finalized for around Rs. 250 crore making it one of the biggest distribution deals in Hindi cinema.

Producer Namit Malhotra had earlier planned to sell the rights for Rs. 500 crore but reportedly found no buyers. After screening a 30 minute edited preview for several studios, the deal was completed.

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

AR Rahman composes the music and the first part is set for Diwali 2026 without fail.
