Ramarao on Duty Movie Review and Rating!

Ramarao On Duty starring Ravi Teja in the lead role under the direction of Sarath Mandava has hit the silver screens today.Let’s see how if fares.

Story: The film revolves a set of missing people in and around Chittor district in Andhra Pradesh. What is reason behind their missing? After noticing the same, a government officer named Ramarao ( Ravi Teja) who works at MRO office takes up the issue, rest of the story deals with how Ramarao cracks the mystery behind missing cases.

On screen performances: Looks-wise, Ravi Teja is decent with his avatar as a government officer. Though his hairdo is not so attractive, he somehow managed to impress with his formal outfits and settled performance.

It is good to see actor Venu Thottempudi on screen after a long time and the actor impresses in his comedy coated cop role.

Both heroines Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijayan did their prominent roles quite convincingly. The chemistry between Ravi Teja and Divyansha Kaushik is showcased in a decent manner.

Tamil actor John Vijay is okay in his key role. Other character artists such as Tanikella Bharani, Srinivas, Rahul Ramakrishna and Krishna Chaitanya are alright in their respective roles.

Technicalities: Music by Sam CS is decent. While the songs are poor on screen as well, he come up with a decent sounding for a few key scenes. Editing by Praveen KL would have been better.

The photography work by Sathyan Sooryan is good as he tried to showcase the rustic texture in the film nicely. Production design work is good as so is the case with the production values.

Analysis: Director Sharat Mandava’s idea of making a suspense drama is good and the point he picked also has freshness in it. But coming to the execution, he failed miserably. Though a couple of heroic elevation episodes are good, the director would have focused more on writing a gripping screenplay for a better viewing experience.

To summerize, Ramarao On Duty is a content driven drama that has a flat narrative and unengaging scene order. Poor writing and unengaging presentation stand tall as demerits for the movie.

Verdict: Diluted drama!

Rating: 2/5
