Ram Pothineni started his career along with Ileana at the age of 17 as a hero with Devadasu in the direction of YVS Chowdary. After that he saw a major set back commercially with Sukumar’s Jagadam but recovered well with Srinu Vaitla’s Ready. After that he had a mild success with Maska, saw back to back flops with Rama Rama Krishna Krishna and Just Ganesh. He came back strong with Kandireega but had a career damaging disaster in Ongole Gitta. His Endukante Premanta and Masala with Venkatesh have also turned up to be big flops. All of a sudden from being a youthful star, status Nani enjoys, he came crushing down to start his career from the starting. He recovered with a film like Pandaga Chesko to some extent and then again had a disaster in Shivam.
Finally, he changed his script selection and tried a love story that was a bit different from normal, Nenu Shailaja. The movie became the first hit of 2016, releasing on January 1st. Kishore Tirumala, the director of the film became one of the successful debutants of Telugu Cinema. Kishore Tirumala got a chance to direct a movie with Venkatesh but since that movie got shelved. He narrated a script to Ram again and the young actor agreed to do the movie. As his Santhosh Srinivas directorial movie, Hyper failed, he is know trying to make amends again by looking different and fresh for the movie. Accordingly, he will be shaping his body into a six pack as there is sequence where he has to go shirtless. The movie will be produced by his uncle Sravanthi Ravi Kishore and the shooting is planned to start from February.
