Ram Gopal Varma’s last Telugu Film Vangaveeti

Ram Gopal Verma master craftsman of Telugu and Indian cinema, started his journey into films as a third assistant writer for Rao Gari Illu and got a chance to direct at a very young age. He created a sensation with Shiva and changed the way films are being made in our Industry and with Shiva Hindi version, he created a niche for himself in Hindi too. After that he became a sensation with his films like Rangeela, Gayam, Antham, Kshnakshnam, Satya, Company, Daud, Sarkar and many more.

He made great films and bad films too in his 27 years long career. He made films that he thought would work rather than what people should work. He got a great support from Nagarjuna Akkineni and a free hand in his first film itself. Ramu expressed his gratitude on the eve of the release of his Vangaveeti. The movie is announced to be the last film of RGV in Telugu and he would like to concentrate more on Hindi and possibly English, with films like Sarkar 3, Nuclear and many more. He is preparing to make a 350 crs budget film, Nuclear next after completing Sarkar 3.

Has he wanted to address such a life altering decision and adhere that he hails from Vijayawada, where he had experiences to make a film like Shiva and now a story based on Vijayawada Rowdism, Vangaveeti as his last Telugu Film. In the grand function, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Raja Sekhar, YVS Chowdhary, SS Rajamouli, B Gopal, Boyapati Srinu, Puri Jagannadh and actors from Vangaveeti attended the function. RGV in quite opposite to his regular behaviour looked very emotional and promised to Nag and Rajamouli that all his films will be special and meaningful if not box-office successes. He showered praises on Nagarjuna the most showing him the gratitude. He said, “You caused me” to the actor who was quite surprised by the change in the man.

Nagarjuna and Venkatesh being the first heroes of RGV, shared their experiences with him on sets and while story discussions. Nag on this occasion said, “If I’m ever going to make Shiva 2, a sequel to Shiva, that should be directed by RGV, else I would never touch it, no matter how many would ask me.” RGV hugged his hero and Nag also joked about Naa ishtam and Ramu’s Twitter account. Venkatesh remembered how they used to feel about Shiva and how it changed their viewpoint. Amitabh Bachchan who was supposed to attend the function could not make it due to technical issue in his flight that he boarded.
