Ram Gopal Varma On Changing Cinema Trends

Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has shared a bold view on the future of Indian cinema after the release of Dhurandhar 2.

He predicted that the film would bring a change and now says its success shows a shift everywhere. RGV has been praising director Aditya Dhar since the first part released in December 2025.

He believes viewers are moving away from unrealistic action scenes and larger than life heroes shown as unbeatable. Instead, viewers now prefer intelligent characters and strong storytelling.

Varma called the film a “verdict” against over-the-top, style-driven cinema.

According to him Aditya Dhar has broken the old formula and proved that content matters more than visual spectacle, sparking fresh debate about changing trends.
