In order to address film tourism, Ram Charan attended the G20 Summit in Srinagar as a representative of the Indian film industry.
Ram Charan, a prominent representative of the Indian film industry who most recently won an Oscar for his work on the film RRR and the song “Naatu Naatu,” was recently in Srinagar for the G20 Summit to speak on the topic of “Film Tourism for Economic Growth and Cultural Preservation.” Ram spoke about his love for Kashmir and his recollections of filming in the scenic valley during the summit, in addition to highlighting India’s potential to become one of the world’s top filming destinations.
Ram Charan disclosed that he has several memories connected to Kashmir at the G20 Summit. He spoke openly about his father’s shooting in the valley and also the 2016 filming of his own movie, Dhruva. “My dad has extensively shot in Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and all these gorgeous areas I used to visit as a kid,” he remarked. When my father invited me to Kashmir, it used to mean something. In the past, I used to feel as though I had accomplished something during the summer break.
He continued, “You will not believe I have shot in this auditorium in 2016 for a movie called Dhruva and it is a very beautiful auditorium in Kashmir. I sat in that chair and this place has something magically that draws the attention of the people. And no matter what we hear about Kashmir or whatever, this is such a good feeling when we come here. It’s been 95 years of the film industry and it will take another 95 years to explore the entire Kashmir.
Regarding the topic of “Film Tourism,” Ram Charan continued, “I am sincerely appreciative of the chance to present the depth of our ingrained culture and mysticism in my films. The capacity of Indian cinema to teach important life lessons through content that is incredibly accessible gives it a certain beauty.
