Rakul Preet Singh has denied reports linking her to the recent Income Tax searches in Mumbai.
The actress clarified on social media that the searches were not connected to her and said some reports were published without verifying the facts.
The searches were conducted over suspected financial irregularities and alleged overseas transactions linked to the film industry. Rakul’s name appeared in reports because locations associated with her were searched.
Rakul said she has no involvement in illegal foreign remittances or benami properties in India or abroad. She also said she has always paid her taxes responsibly.
The actress criticised reports that damaged her reputation and asked publications to correct or withdraw false claims. Meanwhile the investigation is continuing with officials yet to reveal their findings.
