The major highlight for any tale is how it ends. With a great beginning some end with lacklustre conclusion by not giving you the satisfaction of completeness. But makers of Raju Gari Gadhi-2, play everything towards the ending and pack a punch when we walk out of the theatre. There is a message that you must adhere without fail. What is it? Let’s know ..
Plot : Three friends (Ashwin), (Praveen), (Vennela Kishore) go to a resort to enjoy their free time. But they are followed by a Ghost who keeps sending messages through water. They try everything to scare it off but end up scared twice. They meet the local Church father (Naresh) to help them and he refers them to Rudra (Nagarjuna). Rudra examines Suhanisa (Seerat Kapoor) and all the surroundings and confronts the ghost, Amrutha (Samantha Akkineni). What happens next and how it all concludes? You have to watch it on screen ..
Performances : Akkineni Nagarjuna makes it all worth of a wait for his fans. He comes up with a nuanced portrayal as a Mentalist and never let’s his hold the character drop in any scene. He gives his scenes much required believability and excels as a Mentalist.
Samantha Akkineni is great in the short role and she packs a punch as a ghost. Abhinaya and Seerat Kapoor are good too. Ashwin, Vennela Kishore and Praveen don’t really score well in the comedy department.
Technicalities : Editing of this movie is very crisp and we can’t say much faults with it. But there are few sequences that lag the story and the investigation sequence could have been even tighter. VFX work stands out in water sequences. Diwakar’s Cinematography stands out among the technical aspects as the lighting schemes used are engaging and eye-pleasing. He captured the performances of the actors really well and we have applaud for his work.
Thaman takes the second bite of the cake. He makes sure that the movie is never dull with his apt score. He let’s silences really make noise and enjoys the Rudra character like a celebration. This is his best work in recent times. Ohmkar though he is good at places, he needed lot more conviction in handling comic sequences and also, few unbelievable themes needed him to handle even better. Anyways, he doesn’t let his techniques ruin nuanced performances from the lead cast. In the whole, he does improve from his earlier outings but he has still more to learn as a director.
Analysis : The movie required more focused approach right from the word go. Few scenes look like an after thought but as they work, we can ignore. The mistakes in pacing are too obvious to ignore and director should have taken care of these glaring mistakes. The writer and actor’s performances save the movie, making it a fun watch.
