“Raju Weds Rambai” was released on November 21 and became even more popular before its release. The song and trailer created good buzz, and the team promoted it as “The Greatest Love Story”. Now the question is, does the film truly live up to that title, and did its climax really surprise the audience? Let’s see if ETV Win and producer Venu Udugula achieved success.

Raju Weds Rambai Story: Raju, a carefree boy from a village on the Andhra–Telangana border, has loved Rambai since childhood. Their bond becomes so strong that they can’t live without each other. But Rambai’s father Venkanna, with his stubborn and harsh nature, becomes a big obstacle. The story is about whether their love can overcome his cruelty and what tough challenge they face even if they succeed.

Performances: Akhil Raj and Tejaswini Rao look natural and genuine, with perfect expressions and village mannerisms. Their innocence and attitude make them the film’s biggest strength. Chaitu Jonnalagadda acts well, but his cruel character isn’t established strongly, so the impact is weak.

His friends comedy works well, especially the memory card and customer-care scenes. Anita Chowdary performs well, but using a different dubbing voice feels unnatural. Shivaji Raja’s role is decent, though its ending lacks emotion.

Technical Aspects: Suresh Bobbili gives his best as always. The different versions of the Rambai song lift the emotion well, but the sound mixing needed more care, especially the overly loud BGM in Chaitu Jonnalagadda’s scenes. Wajid’s cinematography was good despite shooting in a single location, he avoids repetition and uses trolley and crane shots effectively. The coloring, art work, and costumes are impressive.

Director Sailu Kompati tells a straightforward village story with honesty, but the impact, especially in the shocking climax, doesn’t fully land. Still, his nostalgic touch and comedy timing show solid talent.

Analysis: The climax of Raju Weds Rambai has strong, impactful content, but the execution lacks a bit of intensity. With better handling, it could have become truly unforgettable. Even so, Sailu’s honest direction, the natural performances of Akhil Raj and Tejaswini Rao, Suresh Bobbili’s music, and the shocking climax make this film worth watching in theatres.

Verdict: Raju Weds Rambayi has a powerful core and a shocking climax, though the intensity in execution falls slightly short. Even then, honest direction, natural performances, and good music make it a simple, engaging film that’s worth a theatre watch.

Bottom Line: Honest love story with impactful climax.

Rating: 3/5
