Rajpal Yadav has got another opportunity from the Supreme Court in a cheque bounce case filed by Murali Projects Pvt Ltd.
On September 15th, a bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant directed the actor to deposit Rs. 2 crore with the court registry within two weeks.
The court also asked him to submit a clear proposal to repay the pending amount. Rajpal’s exemption from surrendering has been extended until October 5th, when the case will be heard again.
The case is linked to financial assistance he reportedly received for a film in 2010. The complainant said he received Rs. 5 crore and later issued seven cheques, which were dishonoured.
In July, the Delhi High Court upheld his conviction and sentenced him to three months in prison.
