Rajnikanth is the name synonymous with craze in South Indian Film Industry. He is the only hero from South to enjoy a global recognition and his films have always been a rage, especially since Basha. His Kabali proved that his charisma hasn’t died down, in fact it is still at its peak.
Shankar has been the director from South who made films with universal subjects and his popularity is so much that he can demand never ever heard of budgets and still promise a recovery. He became a brand name for high voltage action dramas and new subject lines delivered in commercial point of view.
He made Shivaji and Robo with Rajnikanth after his several attempts to rope in the actor failed. But being strong brands both delivered huge at the box office. Now they are returning back with 2.0 the sequel for Chitti the robot’s story. The film is produced by Lyca Productions and the movie is said to be made on a never heard of budgets 320 crores. The film is said to be planned for a Diwali release next year.
The first look launch event is planned by the production team in a huge way in Mumbai on 20th November. The logo launch will be 3D. A first look of the characters will also be released it seems. 2.0 features Amy Jackson, Akshay Kumar and A.R. Rehman’s music. Two thirds of the shooting is already over and remaining will be completed by January next year.
