Rajinikanth receives Dadasaheb Phalke award

Earlier this year, the Indian government announced the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award to Kollywood Superstar Rajinikanth. This highest achievement award was announced for the year of 2019 to Rajinikanth for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Meanwhile, this afternoon, Rajinikanth took the prestigious award from the Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. In the same event, Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush took the Best Actor award for his performance in the Tamil movie, Asuran.

For Telugu films, noted producer Dil Raju and director Vamshi Padipally took the award for the 2019 film, Maharshi. Jersey producer Naga Vamsi also received the award in the Best Regional Film category.
