Earlier this year, Kamal Hassan’s team has announced that the Universal Star will be producing a film in which Rajinikanth will play the lead role. Lokesh Kanagaraj of Khaidi fame was roped in as the director and this project was supposed to start by Summer this year, which eventually didn’t happen because of the current pandemic situation.
Now that there is no update regarding the project since many days, many have thought that the project is shelved. Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth share different political ideologies but the fact is that they still maintain great rapport between them and have mutual respect towards each other.
Kamal Hassan’s team has recently denied the speculations that this project is shelved. They have made it clear that the project is still on and will be launched early next year.
Rajinikanth is currently busy with Siva’s Annaatthe. On the other hand, Kamal Hassan has Shankar’s Indian 2 on sets.
