The Indian Film Industry is making quite the waves at the Toronto International Film Festival, and of the many members present at the event, director SS Rajamouli was one as well. The director spoke at a panel recently, especially about his fascination with special effects, and then went on to talk about his major inspiration.
Rajamouli said that he started using special effects to enhance the emotional connection of his scenes, but he soon started to want to incorporate these effects more and more in his movies, which is how his movies started to evolve. He then revealed that Hollywood actor and director Mel Gibson is his major inspiration when it comes to making movies.
Rajamouli said that he likes the way Mel Gibson’s films resonate on a deeply emotional level, in the sense that his films have a universal emotional appeal, thanks to what they convey and how they convey them. Earlier, the director even revealed the theme of his upcoming film with Superstar Mahesh Babu.
