Rajamouli should not have made such comments – Sri Devi

Ever since, the news that Sri Devi rejected the offer to star in Sivagami role in Baahubali has surfaced the actress has been searched by the media for a comment on why she rejected. But she stayed stoic and did not react to any. When the film came out and became a thundering success, once again the media wanted her to comment on the movie and it’s success, still Sri Devi maintained silence about the movie.

But the director SS Rajamouli after the release of Baahubalu 2 in an interview opened up a bit more and alleged that she demands for unrealistic and unreasonable wishes for being a part of the movie, so he said, the producers have backed out. Well, we all were surprised with his claims and hoped Sri Devi will clarify her stand on the subject. As the actress is in the city giving promotional interviews to different media channels, she reacted to one to those allegations quite strongly and refuted them.

Sri Devi said, “ I’m not a novice and I’ve been working for more than 50 years in the Industry. My husband Boney Kapoor is also a producer and he wouldn’t let me be unreasonable as he knows a producer’s plight while making a movie. Our deal fell apart and I could not star in the movie but for that reason a director like him need not resort to cheap comments. If I had been so unreasonable has he mentioned, I would not have continued in the field for so long and no producer like Ashwini Dutt or even producers of Krishna guru with whom I acted in 40 films would have repeated me in their productions. K. Raghavendra Rao is like my mentor and I worked with him in 24 films, he knows about me and being his production why would I demand anything unreasonable to star in the movie? Rajamouli should not have made such comments, initially I did not believe such news, but people sent me the video and I had to react now.”
