After Uyyala Jampala, Telugu cinema got a new lead actor who is connected to the roots of common man rather than industry. But many were apprehensive about his success moving forward. The actor delivered back to back successes with Cinema Chupistha Mama and Kumari 21F. From then on he got some crazy among the young audience and was looked upon by Industry bigwigs too. But as the luck has it, Raj Tarun became close to Manchu family, had a flop in Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu. His movie with Manchu Vishnu, Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam is regarded as a box office success. He did two cameos in movies like Majnu and Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends. But both movies have become flops at box office and Raj Tarun lost on golden chances to be part of two big movies in the mean time.
He signed a three film contract with AK Entertainments while one film is ready for release, the other two are in production stage. He has pinned all his hopes on Kittu gadu unnadu jagratta and is actively shooting for Andagadu. The two movies he lost are Ekkadikipothavu Chinnavada and Shatamanam Bhavati. Due to him being bound to contract even though both films were first offered to him he could not be part of them. Ekkadikipothavu Chinnavada registered major success for Nikhil last year and became a plus point in his resume.
Shatamanam Bhavati is a big film with stellar star cast and being a part of such movie produced by a big producer like Dil Raju, would have propelled his career. But now he has to wait for the contract to be over and hope for the films to work big time. His competition Vijay Devarakonda has emerged this year with Pelli Choopulu and has already been hot favourite of big production houses like Geetha Arts, UV Creations in the direction of talented young directors. The hero, Raj Tarun is in deep introspection about his choices and script selection trying to make right moves in his future endeavors.
