Legendary veteran director K Raghavendra Rao is known for being ever young and charming with his thoughts and films. He tried to innovate the way stories are selected in his early days and then changed the way songs are filmed. He became a trendsetter for choosing different subjects and commercialising them to the core. He even believed in then young actresses Sri Devi and Ramya Krishnan, when no one did and led them to successful careers in film industry.
During all this he never ever expressed disbelief in his abilities or lost trust in audience. Lately, the director seems to have taken to being careful before giving any answer about his future and the result of his latest release, Om Namo Venkatesaya also contributed to his dilemma. Many of his fans, wish to see him again direct big heroes in commercial projects but the director doesn’t believe that people will watch such movies from him anymore.
Recently, MM Keeravani, his long time associate and Akkineni Nagarjuna, expressed their wish publicly to see Raghavendra Rao direct a commercial movie again. But the director when asked about the same at an event, laughed out loud and asked the journalists, “Do you think people will watch my commercial movie?” Even though others tried to probe about his statement, he avoided answering by laughing and asked them to move on to next question.
